What Is an SMD 5050 LED Strip?
SMD 5050 refers to an LED package measuring 5.0 x 5.0 mm mounted on a flexible PCB. The large package fits three color diodes inside, which makes 5050 the workhorse of color-changing LED strips: RGB, RGBW with a dedicated white diode, RGBCW with tunable white, and addressable RGBIC versions with built-in IC chips for pixel-by-pixel control.
